Update

I promised to provide more information soon, and that was two weeks ago, so at the prompting of my readers I have realised it is time to provide the aforementioned more information.

S and I have been rather busy since we annoucned our engagement. All family members have wanted to see us. Whilst this was really nice, it has meant that we have not had a proper chance to sit down and discuss what we want. We have had snatches of conversation, but at last some ideas are solidifying.

Apart from that not much has been happening.

My week in Belfast was very good, and I am still busy talking to people over my first fast stream post. At the moment it looks like I will finish my current job at the end of January, have some time out for 2 weeks or so and then start my new job mid February.

It is so quiet around my apartment block, but then the mad get away rush has already happened. I think S and I will go for a big walk tomorrow when the streets are empty and we can just enjoy having London to ourselves.

A Paris Engagement

Only one item of news to post, and that is S has done me the honour of agreeing to be my wife.

We spent the weekend in Paris, and whilst in the Louvre I plucked up the courage and asked for her hand. S thankfully said yes.

I am spending this week in Belfast on work, for which I am forgiven. My best friend has agreed to be my best man for which I deeply touched.

No date set yet, but thinking of marrying in about 14/15 months time.

Much much more soon.

Prague

I realised that I haven't posted for a few weeks and that is because I have been exceptionally busy at work. In one week we had to respond to three briefing requests! This has to be a record, but we got them done and the minister's were pleased with what we produced.

The faststream is moving in the right direction , and I have already met with someone over a possible job working on performance management and value for money accross the Home Office. Whilst this is not a policy job , this is a skill I need to develop and can then head back in to the policy world. Although I indicated that I was interested in the job I have asked for details on others so that I can compare and contrast.

On a touch of the Kafka esque I have just done an online grocery order for the day I get home to London. Ahh - got to love the internet!

Will post more later, as I want to upload a couple of pictures I took yesterday but I left my camera in my room and can't get wifi there.

Ciao
